City Veterans Day Schedule for Nov. 12 and Specials on Nov. 11

Archived News Release: November 7, 2018 - ​Ann Arbor municipal offices, including the customer service center at Larcom City Hall and the 15th Judicial District Court, will be closed for the observation of Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018. However, the city's normal trash, compost and recycling curbside service will be provided without interruption. Safety services and utility operations will maintain 24-hour schedules throughout.

Also to observe the holiday, Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation will say thank you to military veterans with special offerings at four locations on Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11. 

  • Mack Indoor Pool will offer free swimming to military veterans during lap swim time, 10 a.m.–1 p.m., and also during open swim, 1–6 p.m. The pool is located at 715 Brooks St., inside Ann Arbor Open School.

  • Veterans Memorial Park Indoor Ice Arena (2150 Jackson Ave.) and Buhr Park Outdoor Ice Arena (2751 Packard Road) will offer free ice skating and skate rental for military veterans. Vets Park open skate times are 1–2:30 p.m.; and open skating at Buhr is 2:30–4:30 p.m. and 7:15–8:45 p.m.

  • Military veterans can play nine or 18 holes at Huron Hills Golf Course (3465 E. Huron River Drive) free of charge on Sunday, Nov. 11. Power cart rental is $5 for nine holes, $10 for 18 holes.
