2020 kickoff meeting: Friday, April 17, 4:00-6:00 p.m. Leslie Science and Nature Center. We will be prepping tree saplings for the Earth Day Festival tree giveaway. All youth between the ages 10-15 are welcome to join us and learn about ways to give back, gain work like experiences and have fun in your community. RSVPs are requested for this event.

Become a CIT: Counselor in Training for 2020
2020 CIT applications will be available in January
We are looking for highly motivated and kid-friendly teens ages 14-17 to serve as counselors in training (CIT) for the summer of 2020! Help our day camp coordinators provide a high quality, fun and safe outdoor experience for our day campers. This wonderful opportunity is for teens who want to further develop their leadership and communication skills as well as gain experience in planning and instructing activities for young children. We are looking for a minimum of a week-long commitment at one of our three day camps: Buhr, Fuller, or Gallup.
Opportunities are limited, and applicants are considered but never guaranteed specific weeks or sites. Camp runs Monday-Friday with CIT shifts from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Shorter shift proposals will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Must be able to attend CIT training and the games workshop:

There will be one additional training before camp begins but that is still TBD.

Become a LIT: Lifeguard in Training
We are looking for highly motivated future lifeguards who are 14-15 years of age. You do not need to be Red Cross Certified in Lifeguarding and CPR for the Professional Rescuer in order to participate. As a LIT, you will help our pool staff provide high quality, fun and safe outdoor experiences for our daily swimmers. This wonderful opportunity is for those hoping to become lifeguards and who want to further develop their leadership and communication skills as well as gain valuable experiences in lifeguarding skills. Offered at any one of our three city outdoor pools: Buhr, Fuller or Veterans Memorial. The LIT program requirements:
- Commit one, five hour shift per week for the month of July.
- Attend a bi-weekly in-service training with the pool staff.
- Volunteer at a Splash Day event at any of the pools.
A required LIT training and orientation will occur in June. Exact dates and location to be determined closer to May.
