​The Ann Arbor Fire Department has the highest expectations of all of its members. AAFD also recognizes there may be instances when concerns within the community must be reviewed. It is our policy to investigate all allegations and complaints. Additionally, if you feel a member of the fire department has handled an incident particularly well or that their service has gone above and beyond expectations, please feel free to let us know that as well.

To file a complaint or compliment, please send an email to [email protected],​ come in person to the fire department, contact us by writing, or call 734.794.6961.

All complaints received will be immediately directed to fire administration.

Letters or telephone calls may be anonymous.
Persons making a complaint are encouraged to provide a written account of the incident to avoid conflicts in interpretation.

Notification will be made to the reporting party informing them of the results of the departmental investigation within the allowances of the collective bargaining agreement with the fire union. You may contact fire administration for an update. ​
