Volunteer Opportunities and Adopt-a-Park Information
The Ann Arbor Host Lions Club is dedicated to serving others and helping to improve the lives of all people. The Lions Club partners with Adopt-a-Park each year to weed, mulch and plant a variety of plants in the garden.
The project was proposed and installed by the Ann Arbor Commission on Disability Issues in 2013. The garden also serves as a memorial for Pamela Baker Trostle, former chair of the Commission.
The sensory garden has a variety of plants that are chosen to maximize sensory impact, with people with disabilities in mind. Folks walking by the garden are encouraged to touch and interact with the garden's unique textures, scents, shapes and bright colors.
Reach out to us at [email protected] or 734.794.6445 if you are interested in lending a hand or learning more about the sensory garden.
