Archived News Release: September 29, 2022 - Do you want to help achieve carbon neutrality for a cleaner, greener planet? According to the City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations (OSI), you're in good company! Whether new to the A2ZERO cause, a full-fledged advocate or just curious about carbon neutrality, the second annual Ann Arbor Mayor's Autumnal Green Fair has something for everyone, including for homeowners, renters and community members of all ages. The event takes place Friday, Oct. 7, 6–9 p.m. in downtown Ann Arbor, along Main Street. The Mayor's Autumnal Green Fair is free, fun, family-friendly and informative, focusing on:

  • The circular economy.

  • Solar technologies.

  • Green transportation.

  • Climate resiliency.

  • Energy waste reduction.

  • Clean water, including the debut of Ann Arbor Water, the new effort uniting Ann Arbor's water services — high-quality drinking water, advanced wastewater recovery and robust stormwater management that protects and preserves the Huron River.

  • Plant-based foods.

  • And much more.

“We are so excited for the fall green fair, sharing the enthusiasm and energy in this community for sustained climate action," said OSI Director Missy Stults. “The momentum is building as our residents realize a vision for equitable, just and innovative carbon neutrality."

Mayor's Autumnal Green Fair visitors are invited to stroll local exhibits, learn innovative ways to live sustainably and take climate action. Activities will include:

  • 6 p.m. Parade for the Planet — Wear a costume and get a hand stamp redeemable for a free kids cone at Washtenaw Dairy, valid through Oct. 8, 2022.

  • 6:30 p.m. Ki5 — Local vocal looping artist with mesmerizing, hypnotic and inspiring sound.

  • 7:30 p.m. E-cargo Bike Show — Go on a test ride, and get a free pumpkin while supplies last.

  • 8 p.m. Games, quizzes and prizes.

  • Over 40 nonprofit, governmental and collaborator exhibitors will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions and connect visitors with resources and communities for sustainable actions.
