Swift Run Dog Park to Undergo Year-long Maintenance Project

Archived News Release: September 29, 2021 - Beginning Monday, Oct. 4, Swift Run Dog Park, located at 4000 Platt Road, will close half of the large-dog area for extensive maintenance. The year-long project will include new fencing, replacing turf and allowing the turf to establish over the winter and spring. Fence replacement will take place on the southwest corner of the park and includes 370 feet of new fencing. Intermittent closures of the large-dog area may occur while temporary fencing is installed in October.

When the turf is ready next spring, the project will change to the other side of the large-dog area with a similar six-month timeline for new turf establishment. Throughout the project, one side of the large-dog area will always remain open. The small-dog area will not be impacted by this project and will remain open throughout the year.

The City of Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission are overseeing this project. Questions regarding this project may be directed to [email protected].
