Ann Arbor Interim City Administrator Candidates Interviews Live Online Sept. 21

Archived News Release: September 20, 2021 - ​During a closed session on Monday, Sept. 13, Ann Arbor City Council selected two candidates to interview for Ann Arbor’s interim city administrator position while steps are undertaken to prepare the city for the recruitment of a permanent City Administrator. 

City Council interview panels will take place virtually on Tuesday, Sept. 21. The City Council panel interviews will be streamed live at https://www.youtube.com/user/ctnannarbor​. The schedule is:   

  • 4 p.m. - Peter Burchard

  • 5:15 p.m. - Milton Dohoney

A special session of City Council will be held Sept. 27 to further discuss the city administrator finalists. Additional details will be posted on the city website, www.a2gov.org​, as available. 

Information on the candidates follows:

Peter Burchard  (pictured above, on the left) is currently a consultant for municipalities and provides executive coaching for elected officials and governments. He previously served as the city manager of Naperville, Ill. Burchard earned a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Northern Illinois University.

Milton Dohoney (pictured above, on the right) served as the assistant city manager of Phoenix, Ariz. as well as the city manager and chief executive officer of Cincinnati, Ohio.  He was also the chief administrative officer of Lexington Fayette Urban County Government, Kentucky as well as the deputy mayor of Louisville, Kentucky. Dohoney has a Master of Science in personnel management from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Indiana University Southeast.
