Archived News Release: August 5, 2021 - To celebrate the first anniversary of the City of Ann Arbor's plan to achieve a just transition to community-wide carbon neutrality, known as A2ZERO, the Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations (OSI) is hosting a "Saving Energy" design contest. This contest focuses on enhancing community awareness about the importance of saving energy and the steps to take to reduce energy usage while improving health and comfort.
Twenty students in grades K-12 submitted design entries for badges or stickers to promote saving energy and reducing our carbon footprint. Entries were divided into three categories based on grade levels; K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Three finalists in each category were selected via voting from subject matter experts in the Ann Arbor community. The city thanks the judges:

Now it's up to the public to decide on the winners. Public voting for the “Saving Energy" Sticker Design Contest is Aug. 6-12; the winner in each age category will be announced on Aug. 13, 2021. Winners will receive a $200 cash prize and have their design featured at future A2ZERO community events, turned into a sticker and/or badge, and featured during the 2022 Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) Summer Game.
