The Greenbelt program has protected over 5,100 acres of farmland (including 46 working farms) and open space surrounding the city of Ann Arbor, and has leveraged over $24 million through grants, landowner donations, and other locally and federally funded programs.

The city has worked with The Conservation Fund, a nonprofit focused on environmental conservation and economic development, since 2004 to implement the Greenbelt program.
