Residents Invited to Participate in Public Art Challenge

Archived News Release: March 7, 2018 - ​The City of Ann Arbor is excited to announce that residents of Ann Arbor are invited to participate in Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge. Resident proposals will be collected by the city and evaluated to select a finalist, which will become the official proposal entered on behalf of Ann Arbor. Bloomberg will grant three cities up to $1 million to carry out their proposal.

The deadline for a brief proposal outline is March 26. The finalist will be selected by March 28, and you will have until April 11 to complete the phase one proposal for submission.

Proposal outlines should include:

  1. Description of the project.

  2. Key collaborators, including artists, arts organizations, city agencies, and private sector groups.

  3. Explanation of the goals of this project.

  4. Potential difference it will make for Ann Arbor.
