Ann Arbor Water Resource Recovery to Replace Disinfection System  

Archived News Release: December 28, 2023 - ​Ann Arbor City Council approved funds to replace the city’s UV wastewater disinfection system. Funding for the project, estimated to cost $6.5 million, will come from the sanitary sewer general fund. The current UV disinfection system is more than 20 years old and needs to be replaced. UV disinfection of wastewater enables the plant to discharge clean water back into the Huron River.​
