River Fun at Gallup
  • Barton to Gallup 5.7 mile, 2.5 hour river trip. Boat Rentals for more details and FAQs.
  • In spring/fall when Argo is closed, Gallup also offers the 3.7 mile, 1.5 hour river trip​​. 
  • Stillwater paddling in 2.5-mile Gallup Pond. 
  • Coffee shop, ice cream and concessions.

Barton to Gallup River Trip - 5.7 miles, 2.5 hours ​


May 2-May 22
  • Weekends: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., every hour on the hour from Gallup.
May 23-September 7
  • ​Weekends: 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m., every 1/2 hour from Gallup
  • Weekdays: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., every hour on the hour from Gallup.
September 8-September 27
  • Weekends: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., every hour on the hour from Gallup. 

Boat Fees

  • $32/2-person kayak

  • Canoes and rafts are not available for this trip​

  • $21/1-person kayak
  • $27/2-person canoe, 3rd adult +$10, if small children can fit 4 people

​The Gallup location offers an accessible boat launch that provides universal accessibility, it is simple and safe to use, so that people of all abilities can find boarding, launching and recovery a breeze. Argo Park​

  • ​Is our other location and is located 3.7 miles upstream from Gallup. 
  • When Argo is closed in the spring/fall, Gallup offers the 1.5 hour river trip. 
  • Argo offers kayak, canoe and stand-up paddleboard rentals for stillwater paddling on 2-mile Argo Pond. 

River Programs

  • River Camps for ages 7 to 14 year and River Kids for ages 2 to 7 years 
  • Fun river programs - Trick or Treat on the River, night paddles, Huron River Day Festival, kayak and SUP instruction and more.

Gallup Park

Gallup Park (PDF) includes a 3.25-mile asphalt trail, fishing, public boat launch, playgrounds, picnic areas and pavilions, nature areas, and an indoor room available for rent. Gallup Park Canoe & Kayak also features WiFi, ice cream, coffee and concessions with a patio overlooking the river

Gallup Park Riverview Room Rental​
