15th District Court is Going Live with E-filing July 13, 2023

Archived News Release: July 6, 2023 - The 15th District Court is pleased to announce that we have reached the final stages of our MiFILE Implementation for General Civil, Landlord Tenant and Small Claims cases only. Our staff have been hard at work training and developing critical integrations at the court to support e-filing, and as a result, the 15th District Court will officially accept e-filings for civil cases beginning July 13, 2023.

Chief Judge Karen Quinlan Valvo notes, “We are excited to begin using MiFILE for our civil dockets.  We look forward to improving the efficiency of our service to court users through the use of this technology."

Once the 15th District Court goes live with MiFILE, attorneys will be required to e-file as required by Michigan Court Rule 1.109(G)(3)(f). (Self-represented parties may participate in the e-filing program but will not be required to do so.) If you are required to e-file, you can request an exemption.

Filers can learn more about MiFILE on the Michigan Courts website's Filer Information page or read the MiFILE Quick Reference Guide. In addition, there are video tutorials to help filers familiarize themselves with the e-filing process available online on the MiFILE YouTube Channel. ImageSoft, a contractor working with the State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) to build MiFILE, also hosts training webinars for the filing community.

During this transition period from paper filings to e-filings, the MiFILE support team stands at the ready and prepared to work with the filing community to make this process as seamless as possible. If you encounter any difficulties, you may contact the MiFILE support desk at [email protected].
