Ann Arbor Drinking Water Wins Statewide Taste Test

Archived News Release: September 26, 2016 - ​Ann Arbor drinking water was awarded Best Tasting Water in the State during the Michigan American Water Works Association annual conference held last week in Boyne Highlands. Ann Arbor's water was chosen from five regional winners after a series of blind taste tests.

"The city is excited to be recognized for the quality of its drinking water," noted Brian Steglitz, Water Treatment manager. "Our staff works very hard to ensure our customers have the very best product delivered to their homes and businesses. There are so many quality water systems in the state of Michigan, and to be recognized as the one with the best tasting water in 2016 is truly an honor."

The other finalists for the award included Bergland Township, Chelsea, Mancelona, and MHOG (Marion, Howell, Oceola and Genoa). Ann Arbor last won this award in 1996.
