Meet the Candidates for the Ann Arbor Community Services Area Administrator Position Thursday, Dec. 10

Archived News Release: December 4, 2015 - ​The City of Ann Arbor is hosting a public reception for community members to meet the candidates for the community services area administrator. Former Community Services Area Administrator Sumedh Bahl retired from the city in November 2015. The event will take place 5:30–7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, in the lobby of the Ann Arbor Justice Center (adjacent to Larcom City Hall), 301 E. Huron St.​

The community services area consists of three service units: community development, parks and recreation, planning and development.

Information on the candidates follows:

Rachel A. Bach, AICP, is currently a senior redevelopment associate with Redevelopment Management Associates in Pompano Beach, Florida, since 2013. Bach earned a bachelor's degree with a specialization in urban studies and planning from Kent State University. Bach also has a masters of urban and regional planning degree from Florida Atlantic University.

Derek L. Delacourt, is currently the director of community and economic development for the City of Ferndale, Michigan, since 2011. Delacourt earned a bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning from Eastern Michigan University, with a minor in historic preservation. He is currently working toward a master of public administration degree from Oakland University.

Mark F. Miller, AICP, is currently the director of economic and community development for the City of Troy, Michigan, since 2011. Miller earned a bachelor's degree in urban planning from Michigan State University.

Interviews with the candidates will continue on Dec. 10 and 11. The city hopes to announce its new CSA administrator by Jan. 8.
