 FAQ's

Q: Do I need to register with the Procurement Office to be eligible to bid?

A: No.  The Procurement Office posts all bids, proposals and other solicitation on the MITN (Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network) service.  Please visit www.govbids.com to register.  This service is free if you wish to check periodically for opportunies, not only for the City of Ann Arbor, but southeast Michigan governmental entities.  If you wish to be notified automatically, there is a minimal annual fee.

Q: Does the City of Ann Arbor have a Local Preference Policy?

A: No official policy.  However, when aspects of bids and/or proposals are equal or nearly equal, preference may be given to a local vendor.

Q: What is the City's Preferred Vendor Policy?

A: The City's Preferred Vendor Program recognizes vendors with LOCAL presence that have gone to extraordinary lengths to support the City of Ann Arbor.  We appreciate all our vendors but believe that we should provide additional recognition for those who go above and beyond the minimum requirements.
