Our main responsibility is to reconcile financial records, ensure grant reimbursement requests are done on a timely matter, and report annually expenditures and revenues on the city's Single Audit (See below). The individual service areas (departments) are responsible for seeking and applying for grants and to inform the grant accountant when the new grant has been approval by city council.

(a) Major Programs
The City of Ann Arbor managed approximately $13 million in grants (federal & state) for FY2008.
The federal awards are audited by Abraham & Gaffney, P.C. in accordance with the requirements of OMB Circular A-133, Audits of States, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organizations.
Single Audit
The Single Audit is a federal requirement financial report to include all expenditures & revenues from federal grant funding. This report is generated on a fiscal year basis (June 30th) as the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA)..
