Site Plan Review Metrics

Why This Target?

Various Public Services staff are responsible for reviewing site plans for proposed private development projects to ensure compliance with city standards and regulations. Public Services staff are responsible for the following reviews:

  • Engineering
  • Transportation
  • Solid Waste
  • Landscaping and tree canopy
  • Natural Features Protection
  • Grading, Stormwater Management, and floodplain management

The review window for a site plan is typically 14 days for the first review and 10 days for subsequent reviews.  The time it takes to review plans can vary significant based on the size and complexity of a proposed development.  The goal is to complete the plan reviews on-time 80% of the time or more.

The Data

Interpreting the results

On average across all reviewers, Public Services plan reviewers are meeting or nearly meeting our established plan review on-time performance goal each quarter, but there are still opportunities for improvement.  Over time, staff want to see our on-time performance continue to increase.

The fine print

The source data for these charts is from the city's online permitting platform STREAM.  Plan reviews prior to the STREAM rollout in 2023 were tracked in the legacy permit tracking system eTRAKIT and that performance data is not included here.
