Transportation plans and policies guiding street design

"Ann Arbor: Moving Together builds a common understanding of the opportunities and challenges we face in Ann Arbor, so that we can allocate our resources where they will deliver the most benefit to us all. The plan details a set of strategies, which include individual projects, programs, and policies, and additional actions we will take over the coming years to address our mobility challenges in a sustained, systemic way. It also includes detailed information on how the plan’s recommendations can become reality and a framework for regularly reporting on our progress to ensure transparency and accountability."

"Ann Arbor has a  Vision Zero  goal to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries resulting from traffic crashes. Speed is a major factor for determining how likely and how severe a traffic crash will be. Therefore, slowing vehicles down is an important strategy for helping Ann Arbor reach its Vision Zero goal.

This process targets major streets with documented speeding issues. Community members can report concerns about speeding on major streets. The Major Street Screening Process evaluates these issues and recommends targeted measures such as speed feedback signs, travel lane reconfiguration, or other engineering solutions."
