Eligibility 

To be eligible for a rebate, the following criteria must be met:

• Businesses that provide lawn care or landscaping services to properties located in Ann Arbor will be eligible for this rebate.
• Businesses must trade in gas equipment of equivalent quantity. 

Equipment

The following rebates are available:

• Electric leaf blowers - available until Sept. 30, 2026 or until funding is expended
  • The rebate amount will be 50% of the cost of the new electric leaf blower to a maximum of $400.
  • Eligible businesses may apply for multiple rebates to a maximum of $5,000 per business.
  • The rebate can be used for any battery-powered/electric leaf blower. Leaf blowers may be purchased at any retailer and may be a part of a battery/charger kit.
    • If leaf blowers are not purchased as a part of a battery/charger kit, the rebate can be used for one charger and two batteries per leaf blower purchased. 

Gas powered-leaf blowers must be taken to Recycle Ann Arbor’s Drop Off Station. Before taking leaf blowers to Recycle Ann Arbor, remember to drain them of all fluids (gasoline and oil) or they will not be accepted. Recycle Ann Arbor will provide proof of trade-ins via a confirmation form with one form provided per gas-powered leaf blower dropped off. Please remember to request this form at the drop off station. The confirmation form must be submitted via email within 21 days of receiving the reservation application approval email.

Before receiving a rebate, proof of purchase of the applicant’s new electric leaf blower(s) must be provided. Proof of purchase must be submitted via email in the form of a receipt within 21 days of receiving a reservation application approval email.
