​Important Notes

• The STREAM dashboard will be used for managing permits, requesting inspections and paying invoices.
• You cannot cancel inspections via STREAM.  Please call 734-794-6263 to cancel.
• Scheduling must occur through the portal by an online permit contact. The office does not schedule or switch appointment dates. Appointments are on a first-come first-serve basis based on volume.
• We are unable to provide an exact time for inspections. The inspectors arrange their list the morning of the inspection and do so geographically. A two or four-hour window will be provided and is available via STREAM the morning of the inspection. Inspections cannot be scheduled for the next day after 2:30 PM on the previous day.
• Inspections canceled after 2:30 PM on the previous day are subject to a fee.
• Inspections canceled the same day of the inspection are subject to a fee.​
• City of Ann Arbor inspectors CANNOT enter a occupied property in which no one is home, even with a lockbox or code. If the property is occupied and someone over the age of 18 is not present, the inspection will be marked as missed and require a reinspection (fee assessed). Entering a vacant property (free of any personal belongings) is at the inspectors discretion. 
• Bulk scheduling or special/ overtime inspections (life safety concerns) will be referred to an inspector or a project manager. 
• All necessary requirements to safely access areas that need to be inspected are the contractor’s responsibility. This would include providing a ladder or any other equipment needed to safely access the area.
