Volunteer in the Parks

Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation has year round volunteer opportunities for almost every interest, schedule and ability. Your level of commitment is up to you! As a volunteer, you can sign-up for our one day events, short-term experiences, or become a long-term volunteer. We have opportunities for both individuals and groups of all ages.

Individuals

There are many ways for individuals to be involved with volunteering in our parks. View our volunteer calendar below or visit our individual volunteer page to learn more about programs like Trash Trailblazers and the Breeding Bird Survey.

Adopt-a-Park

This program is a seasonal program that facilitates and supports long term adopters. Ann Arbor residents and city government staff collaborate to improve and enhance the parks. For more information, check out the Adopt-a-Park website.

Group Projects (April-October)

Groups interested in planning a volunteer event with us should fill out our Group Volunteer Inquiry form!

  • Group size: 5 to 30
  • We've worked with businesses, fraternities and sororities, sports teams, community organizations, groups of friends, and more!
  • Great for teambuilding or community engagement!
  • We have a variety of projects in parks all across the city that volunteers can help with. We will try to find a project that fits your group and interest!
