Camp in your Backyard program debuts

Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation staff have created a new 12-week program for families to stay active this summer in place of our in-person day camps. Every two weeks visit this webpage to view and download two weeks worth of crafts, family challenges and indoor/outdoor activites that are fun for all ages. You can download and print the first set of activities below. Good luck, have fun and get outdoors.

Visit Every Park Challenge

With 163 parks in Ann Arbor's parks system, we are thinking you may not have been to all of them. But what if we challenged you to get out and see how many parks you can get to this summer? We therefore invite you to embark on a Visit Every Park Challenge with us! Get outdoors, explore and discover a new park space you've never been to before and track your journey. In a few weeks we’ll be introducing a complete challenge kit, for now we are kicking off with our featured parks of the week. Visit Every Park webpage.

2020 Summer Day Camps Cancelled

Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation has made the difficult decision to cancel city pool openings and summer day camps for the 2020 season.  Research from throughout the industry and talking with other park and camp professionals, attending webinars and reviewing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and other organizations about opening during the pandemic along with many other factors were considered before making these decisions to keep pools and day camps closed. Ultimately, the need to maintain six feet of distance between participants and to keep shared surfaces sanitized after every use — for example pool ladders —becomes extremely difficult, if not unattainable.  For the status of other programming and amenities in the Ann Arbor parks visit our COVID-19 webpage.
