Fire Stations No. 3 and No. 4 Personnel to Temporarily Relocate

Archived News Release: November 13, 2014 - Personnel from two Ann Arbor fire stations, No. 3 and 4, are temporarily relocating to other Ann Arbor stations. Staffing levels will not be reduced as a result.

Due to paving on Jackson Avenue in front of station No. 3 (2130 Jackson Ave.), a Michigan Department of Transportation project, fire station 3 personnel have temporarily relocated to station 1 (downtown) during the work. This portion of the MDOT project is expected to last approximately one week, weather permitting.

In addition, a plumbing issue has occurred with the kitchen sink at station No. 4 (2415 Huron Parkway). In order to repair the plumbing, flooring must be removed, requiring asbestos abatement to first take place. Station 4 personnel will be temporarily relocated to fire station No. 6 (Briarwood Mall area) during the work. This project is anticipated to begin before the end of November and to last for one week.

Only one station will be closed at a time. Reopening updates for each station, once available, will be posted on the fire department's website, www.a2gov.org/fire.
