Archived News Release: June 6, 2018 - The third Wednesday of each month, 11 a.m.–1 p.m., May through October, are sure to be crowd pleasers at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market (315 Detroit St.). In partnership, edible WOW magazine and local food marketing agency Taste the Local Difference have created a cooking demonstration series that focuses on products local farmers bring to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market.
During the event, Ann Arbor chefs perform cooking demos using seasonal ingredients from the market's own vendors. The market crowds can meet the chefs and learn how to create delicious recipes using local ingredients from the market. Tastings are included with each demonstration.
Chefs scheduled to be featured for the rest of the series are:
Chef Nic Simms of the Jefferson Market, Wednesday, June 20.
Chef Bob Bennet of Zingerman's Roadhouse, Wednesday, July 18.
Chef Maggie Long of Jolly Pumpkin, Wednesday, Aug. 15.
Chef Ji Hye of Miss Kim's Korean Restaurant, Wednesday, Sept. 19. Hye also kicked off the series in May, sharing her secrets for making fresh kimchi.
Chef Joel Panozzo of The Lunch Room and Detroit Street Filling Station, Wednesday, Oct. 17.
In addition, Roos Roast Coffee will be on site providing free samples of their coffee specially chosen to compliment the chef's dish that day. A drawing will also be held for guests that includes a variety of items from the chefs, vendors and sponsors.
