Study of Water and Sewer Connection Fees to Begin with Introductory Public Meeting
Meeting takes place Tuesday, Sept. 30, 4-5:30 p.m.
Archived News Release: September 23, 2014 - On Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, the City of Ann Arbor will hold an introductory meeting at Larcom City Hall, second floor Council chambers, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to provide information about the Capital Cost Recovery Study Process. This study will review the way charges, paid by builders, developers and residents, are currently calculated for connection to the city's water and sewer system. The meeting will include examples of similar work done by the project team, an overview of the project scope, plan, the timing for key milestones and an overview of the public engagement plan.
The city has retained Black and Veatch, a nationally recognized engineering and management consulting firm, to perform a water and wastewater system capital cost recovery study. The study is intended to establish an equitable, understandable, defensible cost recovery philosophy and fee structure for customers connecting to the city's water main and/or sanitary sewer systems.
