Sept. 11 is City of Ann Arbor's Second Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Meeting

Archived News Release: August 21, 2017 - Please join us for an update on the City of Ann Arbor's Hazard Mitigation plan process by attending a second public meeting scheduled for Monday, Sept. 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Larcom City Hall basement conference room A (301 E. Huron St.). This is an opportunity for the pubic to be involved in the planning process and for individuals to learn more about potential hazards that may impact the city.

By completing the Hazard Mitigation Plan, the city not only increase its resilience to hazards, but maintains eligibility for state and federal hazard mitigation grant funding. The plan update is required every five years. This update is being completed with federal grant funding assistance.

In addition to the Sept. 11 public meeting, a survey is now available to provide an opportunity to share opinions and participate in the plan update process. The information provided via the survey and all outreach efforts will help the city better understand hazard concerns and help identify mitigation activities that should help lessen the impact of future hazard events, including the impacts of climate change and variability. The survey (www.questionpro.com/t/AJ8IIZaa3A) will close Sunday, Sept. 3.
