City Offices Closed on Memorial Day; Trash/Recycling/Compost Collection Delayed by One Day; City Outdoor Pools Open for the Season

Archived News Release: May 24, 2016 - ​City of Ann Arbor government offices, including the Customer Service Center at Larcom City Hall and the 15th Judicial District Court at the Justice Center, will be closed on Monday, May 30 for the Memorial Day holiday. Safety services will maintain a 24-hour schedule, and utility operations will be on call for emergency response.

There will be no trash, recycling or compost collection in the City of Ann Arbor on Memorial Day Monday. The Monday pickups will occur on Tuesday, and the rest of the collections will occur one day later throughout the week. The normal Friday routes will be serviced on Saturday, June 4. Commercial customers with weekly Saturday service through the city franchise with Waste Management will receive Saturday pickups without delays.

Recycle Ann Arbor's Drop-off Station at 2950 E. Ellsworth Road is closed on Mondays, and is open weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.–6 p.m. For information on the city's solid waste services, please visit a2gov.org/recycle.

The city's outdoor pools will open for the season Memorial Day weekend — Buhr, Fuller and Veterans Memorial park pools. You can purchase summer season passes that are valid May 30–Sept. 5, 2016. Passes can be used at all three pools for all public swim times and tot splashes. Passes may be purchased at all of the pools, the Parks and Recreation Customer Service Center (Cobblestone Farm, 2781 Packard Road), or renewed online at a2gov.org/parks. Resident season passes for a family are $240 preseason and $265 regular season.
