Residents Sought for Dog Park Committee

Archived News Release: May 27, 2015 - The City of Ann Arbor Park Advisory Commission will be forming a committee to identify potential sites for dog parks using guidelines established in the document "Recommendations and Guidelines for Dog Park Site Selection, Design, Operations and Maintenance" (see link below). The committee will be comprised of members of the Park Advisory Commission, city parks and recreation staff, and three Ann Arbor residents. The committee will meet one time per month for a period of one year to identify potential sites using the criteria established, narrowing sites to those that score the highest, developing concept plans, engaging the community and voting on proposed sites.

Ann Arbor residents interested in serving on the committee may contact Amy Kuras, park planner, at [email protected] by Tuesday, June 9. Inquiries should include the resident's name, contact information, and a short paragraph explaining his or her interest in participating on the committee. The Park Advisory Commission will appoint members to the committee at their meeting on June 21.

The dog park document is available online.
