Huron River Day 2024 is Sunday, May 19
Enjoy the beautiful Huron River with free, family-friendly river activities during the Huron River Day festival. This event will be at
Island Park, 1420 Island Drive in Ann Arbor, Sunday, May 19, noon-4 p.m. Learn, explore and have fun celebrating Ann Arbor's wonderful freshwater with children's activities, river exhibits, music, food trucks/carts and more.
Parking Information
Park at
Fuller Park and take a short walk through the park or ride your bike to Island park! Bike tune-ups, education by common Cycle, and complementary bike valet are provided by the Bicycle Alliance of Washtenaw.
Limited designated disability parking spaces available at Island Park.
Volunteer at Huron River Day!
Volunteers are needed to help staff the event! There are a variety of shifts and tasks that we are recruiting volunteers for. Volunteers are needed to help guide parking, staff the event, help at the bike corral, and much more.

- Dirt Doctor with water squirting lessons
- Live animals with Leslie Science & Nature Center
- The Huron-Clinton Metroparks will have its Mobile Learning Center onsite showcasing the river's natural history

- Study river bugs with the Huron River Watershed Council
- Thirty minute nature walks (starting at the Information Tent at noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.) by Natural Area Preservation

Huron River Day began 44 years ago. This event encourages partnerships among government, private and non-profit organizations and educates citizens about water quality and Huron River preservation. For more information about Huron River Day, call 734.794.6240.
Huron River Day is a day of celebrating our community's unique and special resource. The Huron River flows through our city and provides so many benefits to our community and our environment. This scenic river is a source for drinking water, a home for the wildlife and a place for recreation, including kayaking and fishing.
