Shoshannah Lenski
Executive Director, Ann Arbor Sustainable Energy Utility
Shoshannah Lenski is the inaugural executive director of the Ann Arbor Sustainable Energy Utility. She joined the City of Ann Arbor and its executive leadership team in August 2025, bringing 20 years of experience in utilities, business strategy and sustainability. She most recently led the Center for Sustainable Systems at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS). At DTE Energy, she held leadership roles in corporate strategy, infrastructure renewal operations, and more – including serving as the incident commander for the DTE Gas pandemic emergency response. She also previously worked as a management consultant for the globally renowned Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
Shoshannah holds a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a master's degree from the University of Michigan, where she studied sustainable systems and published research on transportation decarbonization policy. Before joining the city as an employee, Shoshannah served on the Ann Arbor Energy Commission, including a term as chairperson. Today, she is a proud trustee for the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center.
Shoshannah lives in Ann Arbor with her family, in an old home they have had the fun of electrifying (including putting in solar and geothermal energy!). She enjoys hiking, reading (mostly nonfiction) and watching live theatre and music.
