Supportive Connections is the City of Ann Arbor’s social support program that provides care-centered responses to residents experiencing crisis or challenging life circumstances. The program focuses on early intervention and prevention, helping individuals and families remain safely connected to their community while reducing unnecessary involvement with law enforcement or the criminal justice system.
Grounded in person-centered and harm reduction principles, Supportive Connections offers voluntary, individualized support that meets people where they are. Through collaboration with community partners, the program connects residents experiencing behavioral health concerns, substance use challenges, or housing instability to timely resources, short-term case management, and pathways to longer-term support.
IMPORTANT: Michigan will not issue SNAP benefits in November, but the Ann Arbor Farmers Market (315 Detroit St.) will continue SNAP transactions for the balance already on your card, and vendors are still taking your tokens. Additionally, the Fair Food Network has lifted the $20 match limit for Double Up Food Bucks and removed expirations until Dec. 31, 2025: it is now an unlimited match, and all earned Double Up Food Bucks will not expire until Dec. 31. If you have questions about this, stop by the office and ask or visit doubleupfoodbucks.org! WIC is not yet impacted by the shutdown and is taken by one vendor; stop by the trailer to see which vendor is applicable to this. Here is a list of local food resources you can view and download.
