Street Exemption Request for Snow-Related On-Street Parking Bans

Street Exemption Request Form

The ordinance authorizing on-street parking bans because of snow allows the City Administrator to exempt streets because of inadequate off-street parking, safety concerns, or other site constraints.

Requests will be evaluated by examining features that make off-street parking difficult or impossible.

Staff will use aerial imagery or an on-site visit to estimate, to the extent possible, if enough space exists for residents to park off the street. Requests will only be accepted during non-winter months when snow is not falling, generally April through October.

Any requests made before the first week of October will be provided with a response before the first week of November.

Exemption requests will not be considered from November 1 through April 1 of the following year.

To submit a request by phone, please call the city's public works staff during normal business hours at 734.794.6350, and ask to submit a snow parking ban street exemption request.
