The Ann Arbor Local Food Festival Makes Its 5th Annual Return to Kerrytown on August 27, 2026

The Ann Arbor Local Food Festival is returning to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., marking its fifth year celebrating Michigan growers and farmers. Michigan farmers, food makers, vendors, and community organizations are invited to join this all-local event by submitting an application to sell products, table at the festival, or – new this year – host an interactive demonstration or activity. Interested entities can find more information and apply to join the festival at a2gov.org/localfoodfest. Applications are due by June 1st, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. If accepted, vendors will be provided a booth at no cost.

With a number of ways to get involved, the Local Food Festival offers organizations an opportunity to reach new, engaged audiences, highlight their unique products, and share their mission with a wide swath of the community. This year there are two ways to apply for a booth at the Local Food Festival:

  • As a local food business interested in selling or sampling products

  • As an organization interested in providing educational experiences, such as an informational table or interactive demonstration.

Priority consideration for applicants under both opportunities will be given to businesses utilizing locally sourced agricultural goods in their products and community groups working in the local food system. All booths should highlight opportunities for attendees to participate in local food initiatives at home or in their community. Potential educational experiences could focus on ways to grow your own food, build culinary skills, connect to cultural foodways, reduce waste, or benefit the ecosystem.

The Local Food Festival brings together growers, producers, chefs, artisans, and food lovers from Washtenaw County and beyond to celebrate Michigan’s agricultural and culinary landscapes. Attendees will experience a mix of tastings, demos, live music, games, and interactive learning opportunities that showcase the value of a strong local food system.

This event is a collaboration between the City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations, the Ann Arbor Farmers Market, and Argus Farm Stop, all working together to connect community members to the people, programs, and practices that make local food accessible and practical.
