Sustainability Forums return to the Ann Arbor District Library in 2026
The City of Ann Arbor and the Ann Arbor District Library are collaborating to bring back the 15th annual Sustainability Forums series. The Sustainability Forums unite Ann Arbor’s Office of Sustainability and Innovations staff and other community leaders to discuss local sustainability concepts and efforts—past, present and future. Each Forum will feature short presentations followed by an interactive session where attendees are encouraged to ask questions of the presenters and engage with fellow community members.
The first event in this five-part monthly series will be held Tuesday, January 27 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the downtown Ann Arbor District Library (343 South Fifth Ave) in the 4th Floor Program Room.
This January forum, titled “New Initiatives for a New Year: Charting a Path for Sustainability Progress in 2026”, will focus on the City’s new and exciting sustainability initiatives, programs, and commitments for this new year. This event is free, open to the public, and does not require pre-registration. Speakers include:
-
Shoshannah Lenski, Executive Director, Ann Arbor’s Sustainable Energy Utility
-
Jerrell Wylie, Energy Official, City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations
-
DeAndré Calvert, Engagement Manager, City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations
“We are thrilled to bring back this annual series,” said Missy Stults, Director of Ann Arbor’s Office of Sustainability and Innovations. “The Forums not only provide an opportunity for important dialog between City staff and the community but also highlight and celebrate the incredible work other local leaders and organizations are doing to support sustainability and climate action in Ann Arbor.”
The remaining forums will take place monthly on the last Tuesday of each month (February 24, March 31, April 28, and May 26), and cover a wide range of topics, including a celebration of the recently published A2ZERO Community Cookbook!
The Sustainability Forums are a part of A2ZERO, the City of Ann Arbor’s plan, vision, framework, and associated actions to achieve a just and equitable transition to carbon neutrality, community-wide, by the year 2030. Learn more about this event, others like it, and the A2ZERO plan at a2zero.org.
