City of Ann Arbor Announces New Residential Rebates for Shovels and Electric Snow Blowers
Residents invited to trade in gas snow blowers for up to $200 off an electric snow blower or a free snow shovel
The City of Ann Arbor just launched a new rebate program specifically for shovels and electric snow blowers beginning December 8, 2025, and running through March 1, 2026, or until funding is expended. Residents can trade in a gas snow blower for up to $200 off an electric snow blower or a free snow shovel.
Ann Arbor’s shovel and electric snow blower rebates can be used to purchase any shovel or electric snow blower at any retailer. The rebate amount will be 100% of the cost of a new shovel or 50% of the cost of a new electric snow blower up to $200 with a maximum of one rebate per household. To receive a rebate, residents will be required to trade in an old gas-powered snow blower by recycling it through the process laid out on the City of Ann Arbor’s webpage.
Residents can also save thousands of dollars for home energy improvements through the City of Ann Arbor’s A2ZERO Home Energy Rebates. These rebates cover measures such as heat pumps, water heaters, battery storage, induction cooktops, electrical upgrades, insulation and air sealing, and more. All of the above-mentioned rebates are funded by the 2022 Community Climate Action Millage, a millage approved by Ann Arbor residents to fund climate action. More information about the snow blower and shovel rebates, along with details about our existing rake and electric leaf blower rebates, including details about how to apply for all, can be found at osi.a2gov.org/lawncarerebates.
This work is part of A2ZERO, the City of Ann Arbor’s plan, vision, framework, and associated actions for a just and equitable transition to carbon neutrality, community-wide, by the year 2030. To learn more and find out where you fit in, visit a2zero.org.
