City Introduces New Accessibility Coordinator

The City of Ann Arbor is announcing the hiring of Jenna Truong as accessibility coordinator with the Ann Arbor Office of Organizational Equity (OOE), effective July 28, 2025. In her role within OOE, Truong will serve as a key resource for city employees, visitors and residents, ensuring city practices and spaces are inclusive and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other relevant guidelines.
Established in 2021 by the Ann Arbor City Administrator's Office, OOE works to create a more inclusive Ann Arbor by identifying and addressing structural barriers within city policies and practices. Through partnership with community members and organizations, the office supports efforts to ensure all residents — regardless of ability, background or identity — can access city services, participate fully and thrive. Truong’s focus will involve internal city functions, including advising leadership on policies; training staff about accessibility laws, guidelines and best practices; partnering with departments to address accessibility barriers; and supporting proactive planning to ensure accessibility considerations are included in city decision-making.
“We’re excited to have Jenna on board,” said Ann Arbor Office of Organizational Equity Director LJ Orta, “We look forward to the leadership, insight and advocacy she’s bringing to the city’s ongoing work to embed accessibility and equity in all we do.”
Truong brings a wealth of experience in disability advocacy, public service and equity-centered program development, with a focus on creating environments where all people can participate fully and with dignity. Prior to joining the city, she served at Public Health — Seattle & King County and in positions at the University of Washington responsible for increasing disability awareness and improving access in higher education, training and programming to support inclusive learning environments. Truong also earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies with a minor in environmental health from the University of Washington.
OOE reports quarterly to the city administrator and City Council on progress toward equity goals, activities, barriers and established measures. Learn more about the Ann Arbor Office of Organizational Equity.
