City Considering On-Street Parking Ban for Forecasted Snowstorm Sunday–Monday, Jan. 25–26
The City of Ann Arbor is considering calling an on-street parking ban due to anticipated snowfall Sunday into Monday, Jan. 25–26.
A decision on the ban will be made roughly 24 hours in advance and will be announced on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, between noon and 2 p.m. If a ban is called, it will be announced on the city website.
City staff is continuing to analyze the forecast and monitor road conditions. People who park on Ann Arbor streets should begin thinking about parking alternatives.
The ban will help road crews manage snowfall by allowing them to clear from curb to curb. In extreme cold, packed snow on roads doesn’t melt, even with salt, so getting as much snow off of pavement with plows is critical for safety.
Details about the on-street parking ban, including a map of exempt streets and open lots and parking structures where residents can park, will be available at www.a2gov.org/snowparking.
