Ann Arbor Shares Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule

The City of Ann Arbor will not provide curbside trash, recycling or compost collection on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025. Instead, the collection schedule will be delayed.

Because of the holiday:

  • Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, Nov. 28.
  • Friday routes will be collected on Saturday, Nov. 29. This schedule change applies to this week only.

City offices, including the Customer Service Center at Larcom City Hall, and the 15th Judicial District Court will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. City of Ann Arbor emergency services and utility operations will continue to operate 24/7.

Seasonal Compost Collection

Please also note, seasonal curbside collection of compostable materials will end for the year on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025. Until Dec. 12, residents may set out leaves and other yard materials in compost carts, paper yard bags or bundled branches, following the guidelines at www.a2gov.org/compost.

The city reminds residents that leaves may not be placed in the street and will not be collected if they are left there.
