Ann Arbor’s 25th Annual Green Fair is Friday Sept. 19

The free, sustainability-focused event along Main Street will feature resources, education, interactive demonstrations, games, live music and more.
The A2ZERO Green Fair is Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, along Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor, 5–8 p.m. This joy-filled evening will feature electric vehicles, a community clothing swap, local food vendors, local experts and organizations, games, raffle prizes, and more, organized into five themed zones:
Electric Avenue: Chat with industry experts, local residents and contractors about how to improve the efficiency and health of your home. Everyone’s invited — homeowners, renters, landlords and building professionals. The Electrification Expo from previous years has now become part of Green Fair!
Circularity Street: This zone will showcase local businesses and organizations leading the way in circular-economy practices, through reusing, repairing, sharing, lending and finding creative ways to extend the life of goods and resources. Local food, thrifting, repair and more can be found in this section of Green Fair!
Resilience Road: Tour Ann Arbor’s brand-new solar mobile resilience hub; draft an emergency plan; chat with community leaders helping to meet the needs of fellow residents; and learn how you can build community resilience, too!
Biodiversity Boulevard: See birds of prey; get hands-on demonstrations; learn about conservation-focused resources and volunteer opportunities; uncover opportunities to preserve and enhance tree canopy coverage; get gardening tips; learn about local water and air quality programs; and more!
Kid’s Corner: Family-friendly activities; life-size board games; yard games; prizes; and more can be found here. There’s no age minimum or limit — all are welcome!
Green Fair was originally hosted by the Ann Arbor Mayor’s Office beginning in 2000, and ownership of the event passed to the Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations in 2020 after the adoption of the city’s A2ZERO carbon neutrality plan.
"Green Fair is yet another long-standing demonstration of Ann Arbor’s commitment to climate action and fostering a more sustainable relationship with our environment and each other,” said Dr. Missy Stults, director of OSI. “We’re honored that Green Fair has been such a prominent part of the Ann Arbor community for the past 25 years, and we’re looking forward to how it’s going to continue to grow and evolve over the next 25 years!”
Details about exhibitors, events and activities can be found on the Green Fair website at a2gov.org/greenfair. To learn more about the city’s A2ZERO carbon neutrality plan to achieve a just transition to community-wide carbon neutrality by 2030, visit www.a2zero.org.
