Ann Arbor Local Food Festival to feature fresh flavors, foodie fun Aug. 27

The Ann Arbor Local Food Festival returns to Kerrytown Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, 5–8 p.m., for a delicious summer evening celebrating Michigan food and farming. For one night only, the Ann Arbor Farmers Market at 315 Detroit St. hosts this free, one-of-a-kind, public festival showcasing local food, culture and community.

Annually, the Local Food Festival offers an immersive celebration of Michigan food systems, inviting families, food lovers and local food advocates to explore and enjoy the richness of local food and agriculture. Attendees will experience a mix of free tastings, demonstrations, live music, games and interactive learning opportunities that showcase the value of a strong local food system.

Festival attendees can expect:

• Seasonal cooking demonstrations from local chefs Kori Kanayama of Purslane Commons and Mary Balog of Argus Farm Stop
• Locally produced food from an array of food trucks, carts and pop-up vendors available for purchase
• Hands-on exhibits and activities, including an heirloom produce tasting, backyard compost demonstrations, recipe exchanges, do-it-yourself vegetable printing and more
• Dozens of local organizations on site to share resources and opportunities to get involved in building a resilient and equitable local food system
• Live music from local musicians

This event is a collaboration between the Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations, the Ann Arbor Farmers Market and Argus Farm Stop, all working together to connect community members to the people, programs and practices that make local food accessible and practical.
