Ann Arbor Introduces New Transportation Manager

The City of Ann Arbor announces the appointment of Malisa McCreedy as its next transportation manager, effective Aug. 25. McCreedy brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in public-sector transportation, mobility systems and community-focused planning.

McCreedy most recently served as director of transportation and mobility for the City of Gainesville, Florida, where she led a consolidated department overseeing multimodal planning, transit, parking and smart mobility initiatives. Her experience also includes significant roles in Portland, Charlotte, and Orlando, and she served six years as board chair for Get Active Orlando.

“Malisa will bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and energy to the city’s transportation program,” said Ann Arbor City Administrator Milton Dohoney Jr. “She has a proven record of innovation, strategic thinking and public engagement that will be critical as we continue building an accessible, equitable and sustainable transportation network for our community.”

“We’re excited to welcome Malisa to the team,” said Jordan Roberts, public services area administrator. “Throughout her career, she has been recognized for developing integrated, forward-looking transportation strategies while building strong, collaborative teams. Her background in communication, public administration and public health, combined with extensive policy and operations experience, makes her uniquely qualified to help Ann Arbor meet the evolving transportation needs of residents, businesses and visitors.”

“We’re at a pivotal moment in Ann Arbor as we work to meet ambitious transportation and climate goals,” Dohoney added. “The transportation manager plays a vital role in shaping how people move through and experience our city. Malisa understands both the technical and human aspects of mobility and I’m confident her leadership, vision and collaborative approach will make her an excellent partner to our staff, elected officials and the public in moving important projects and initiatives forward.”

McCreedy holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Central Florida, as well as a graduate certificate in public health from the University of North Carolina. In her new role, she will report to the city’s public services area administrator and collaborate closely with systems planning, engineering and community engagement staff.
