Controlled Burn Planned April 1 at the Ann Arbor Skatepark in Veterans Memorial Park

Archived News Release: April 1, 2021 - ​The City of Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation unit has hired a contractor to conduct a controlled burn of native plantings at the Ann Arbor Skatepark located within Veterans Memorial Park. Controlled burns are used to enhance the ecology of a site by controlling invasive plants. The fire is conducted by trained personnel and will be under control at all times. The burn will take place Thursday, April 1, between approximately noon and 3 p.m.
