Ann Arbor Holiday Schedule

Municipal Office Closures, Curbside Service Delay; and Property Tax Payments

Archived News Release: December 18, 2019 -

There will be no trash or recycling collection services in the city of Ann Arbor on Wednesday, Dec. 25 due to the Christmas Day holiday as well as Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, for the New Year's Day holiday. Solid waste collections will be delayed one day both weeks, with Friday pickups taking place on Saturday. Please note, trash and recycling collections will occur as normal on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Dec.31.

Ann Arbor Municipal Center offices and the 15th District Court will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas holiday as well as Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020 for the New Year's holiday. Safety services and utility operations will maintain 24-hour schedules throughout.

For winter weather and the snow and ice that comes with it, residents, businesses and property owners should be aware of their responsibility to clear their sidewalks. It is also wise to take proper precautions to reduce the possibility of frozen water pipes and other cold-weather problems. Learn more at www.a2gov.org/snow. ​

Prope​rty tax payments

Property tax payments over the counter will be accepted without penalty on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020. Residents may also use one of the following services to make payments:

  • Online (www.a2gov.org/taxpayment) — Online tax payments must be submitted by Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, to avoid penalty.

  • Drop box (located at East Ann Street and North Fifth Avenue, or inside the north vestibule of Larcom City Hall) — Drop-box payments will be accepted without penalty through Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.
