City Labor Day Holiday Schedule

Archived News Release: August 26, 2019 - ​There will be no trash, recycling or compost collection services in the city of Ann Arbor on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. Monday pickups will occur on Tuesday, and the rest of the collections will occur one day later throughout the week. The normal Friday routes will be serviced on Saturday, Sept. 7.

City of Ann Arbor municipal offices, including the Customer Service Center at Larcom City Hall and the 15th Judicial District Court at the Ann Arbor Justice Center, will be closed on the holiday Monday. Safety services and utility operations will maintain 24-hour schedules throughout.

Ann Arbor Parks and​​ Recreation opportunities for Labor Day weekend and beyond

Take a final dip in the pools at Buhr and Veterans Memorial park on Labor Day Monday before they close for the season. But that doesn't mean swimming has to come to an end. Fuller Park Outdoor Pool swim season is being extended again this year, closing on Sept. 15; and Mack Indoor Pool opens Tuesday, Sept. 3. Find details online at www.a2gov.org/pools.

Both the Argo and Gallup canoe liveries are open for the weekend and Labor Day Monday 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Last river trip rental is from the Argo Livery at 4 p.m. and last stillwater rental is at 6 p.m. with all boats due back by 8 p.m. Paddle around 2-mile peaceful ponds, travel down the 3.7- mile calm river and get your thrills in the Argo Cascades. The liveries offer boat rentals, paddles, lifejackets and van shuttles upriver. The City of Ann Arbor Canoe Liveries are open into October for fall paddling. Argo will be open weekends starting after Labor Day and closes for the season Sunday, Oct. 6. Gallup remains open every day through Sunday, Oct. 20. Planning a Labor Day picnic? Stop by the Ann Arbor Farmers Market for the freshest, local ingredients. The market is open Wednesdays and Saturdays 7 a.m.-3 p.m. And just because school is back in session doesn't mean summer fun has to end. The market's Food Truck Rally takes place Wednesday, Sept. 4, 5-8 p.m. with 16 food trucks and carts as well as live music from MG Bailey. Entertainment from Detroit Circus takes place 8-9 p.m., followed by the Flicks on Bricks outdoor movie series showing A Star is Born at 9 p.m./sundown.
