City Schedule for Labor Day Monday Sept. 3

Archived News Release: August 29, 2018 - ​There will be no trash, recycling or compost collection services in the city of Ann Arbor on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3. Monday pickups will occur on Tuesday, and the rest of the collections will occur one day later throughout the week. The normal Friday routes will be serviced on Saturday, Sept. 8.

City of Ann Arbor municipal offices, including the Customer Service Center at Larcom City Hall and the 15th Judicial District Court at the Ann Arbor Justice Center, will be closed on the holiday Monday. Safety services and utility operations will maintain 24-hour schedules throughout.

Ann Arb​or Parks and Recreation opportunities for Labor Day weekend and beyond

This is the last weekend Buhr and Veterans Memorial park pools will be open for the season. Swimming is open noon-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 3.​

Fuller Park Outdoor Pool will be open Labor Day 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. The swim season is being extended again this year, with the season running Sept. 4-16 and including lap swim, Monday-Friday, 7:15 a.m.-1 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and public swim, Monday-Friday, 4-8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 1-8 p.m. Extended season pass fees are: Adult residents, $20; nonresidents, $25. Youth/Seniors, $16 resident, $20 nonresident; and family, $38 resident; $47 nonresident.

The Ann Arbor Senior Center (1320 Baldwin Ave.) will be open Monday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and offer board games in the lobby all day, Bridge Supervised Play 9:30-11:30 a.m.; Mahjong at noon and Non-sanctioned Bridge at 12:30 p.m.

Both the Argo and Gallup Canoe Liveries are open for the weekend and Labor Day Monday 9 a.m.-8 p.m. The Argo Livery offers the 1.5 hour river trip between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and the Gallup Livery offers the 2.5 hour river trip between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Stillwater paddling is available at both liveries between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., with all boats due back by 8 p.m. The City of Ann Arbor Canoe Liveries are open until Oct. 21 for fall paddling. Huron Hills and Leslie Park golf courses will be open Monday, Sept. 3. Use the new tee time reservation system. The first time you sign up using this new system, you'll have to enter any previous information the golf course may have already had on file, but, as a reward you'll receive a 2018 discount of 15 percent off the walking portion of your greens fee. Once Buhr Park Pool (2751 Packard Road) closes to the public for the season, it's time for four-legged friends to make a splash. The Dog Swim is Wednesday, Sept. 5 and Thursday, Sept. 6, 3–8 p.m. Swim times are in half-hour increments. The cost for the first dog is $6 for residents/$7.50 for nonresidents, and for the second dog, $3 residents/$3.75 nonresidents. The rain date is Friday, Sept. 8. ​
