Don’t Miss Mayor’s Green Fair Friday, June 10

Archived News Release: June 8, 2016 - ​Stroll down Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor this Friday, June 10, for a truly "green" experience. The City of Ann Arbor mayor's office is hosting the 16th annual Mayor's Green Fair 6–9 p.m. to celebrate our community's environmental leadership. The event will feature:

  • Informative environmental displays.

  • "Green" product demonstrations.

  • Live music by The Glen Levens.

  • Hands-on activities for all ages.

  • Local vendors selling organic food on Liberty Street near Main Street.

  • The Environmental Leaders Area (Washtenaw County "WasteKnot*" partners) with activities for all ages, environmental information, crafts and live birds of prey demonstrations.

  • The Clean Energy Coalition Clean Energy Expo, including displays of alternative fuel vehicles, demonstrations of "green" building materials, solar energy installations, renewable energy installations and more.

  • The Green Commute Area, sponsored by the getDowntown Program, showcasing a variety of ordinary and innovative sustainable transportation choices, such as ArborBike, AAATA's hybrid buses and Zipcars. Valet bike parking will be offered.

Also of note, the following event-related road closures (www.a2gov.org/roads) will be in place on Friday, June 10, 3 p.m.–midnight:

  • South Main Street from William to Huron (to reopen at 11 p.m.).

  • Liberty Street from South Ashley to South Fourth Avenue.

  • Washington Street from South Ashley to South Fourth Avenue (except for traffic entering or exiting the Washington Street Parking structure) .
