Library Lot Development Proposal Presentations Take Place Thursday, Oct. 22

Archived News Release: September 21, 2015 - On Thursday, Oct. 22, two Library Lot downtown development proposals will be presented to the community at the Ann Arbor Downtown Library from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Each meeting will include the same presentation information and public input opportunity, so members of the public need only attend one of the two meetings.  The meetings will be taped for later cable and online replay via Community Television Network.

The Oct. 22 community presentations will also include audience feedback opportunities for the two mixed-use development proposals being considered for the city-owned Library Lot in downtown Ann Arbor. Per the request for proposal guidelines, the proposals contain hotel and residential components as well as public park space.

The city's real estate consultant, CBRE, narrowed down the final two development proposals now being considered from five. The final two proposals that will be presented to the community on Oct. 22 are from CA Ventures and Core Spaces. View the Library Lot RFP responses.

City Administrator Steve Powers said the review process to date has focused on the developers' financial resources and experience, and the financial structure of the proposals.

"Following community engagement opportunities, the developers will have an opportunity for a best-and-final offer, as revisions to design, pricing, uses and other project components are revealed from the community feedback received," said Powers.

After CBRE's review of the best-and-final offers, the City Administrator will make a recommendation to City Council.

All persons are encouraged to participate in public meetings. Accommodations, including sign language interpreters, may be arranged by contacting the city clerk's office at 734.794.6140; via email to [email protected]; or by written request addressed and mailed or delivered to: City Clerk's Office, 301 E. Huron St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104. Requests need to be received at least two business days in advance of the meeting.
