​Barrier Busters gives helping hands to those in need

Archived News Release: November 30, 2022 - Ann Arbor water utility customers have the option of helping Ann Arbor residents facing difficulties paying their utility bills through the Ann Arbor Assistance Fund, which provides assistance to prevent eviction and utility shut off. Ann Arbor utility customers can donate by using the Ann Arbor Assistance Fund donation line located on your water bill payment stub or by using the new donation feature in the online water bill payment system. Donations go to the Barrier Busters Program​, which is managed by the Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Development. The funds are then distributed to Ann Arbor residents who meet the necessary criteria and are in danger of losing their housing or utility services due to financial hardship.​
