An assortment of presentations are available for schools that would like to have an officer visit to promote good relationships with the police and provide educational material to youth.
The community engagement unit strives to team with seniors in reducing their vulnerability with criminal behavior, consequently improving their quality of life through education and partnership.
The Coffee and Conversation with a Cop presentation has been implemented by the AAPD in an effort to enhance communication between senior community members and the police department. These events are available to interested groups of seniors who would like the opportunity to ask questions and learn about new programs and efforts the police are currently focusing on in their neighborhoods. There is no set agenda for these meetings and is driven by the questions and concerns brought forward by those attending. Contact Sgt. Tours of the Ann Arbor Police Station
The Ann Arbor Police Department welcomes community and student organizations for tours of the police station. Tour groups will learn about the equipment police officers use and the responsibilities of the police department. The police station tour will show the different operational areas including patrol operations, detective bureau, and jail cell area.
Tours must be scheduled at least 14 days in advance to ensure sufficient personnel are available. For safety reasons, we ask that tour groups are no larger than 20 people and that enough adults are present to supervise children.
